Description… The Haute Route or the high road is known the world over for its rugged mountains and famous Cols. This tour is for those who love to climb. Start in Geneva Switzerland and travers the French Alps to Nice. Join GranFondo Cycling Tours this epic 450 mile odyssey through 3 countries and 19 legendary Cols including the Madeleine, Telegraphe, Galibier, Grandon, Alpe d’Huez and more. The tour includes all accommodations, breakfast, dinners, van support, daily route maps, bike case transport from Geneva to Nice, and tour Jersey.

Day 1: Foothills warm-up
Pre-tour Meeting at our hotel near the foothills Geneva. Talk about the route and receive maps and Jerseys. Build bikes then hit the road with a loop ride out to Lake Anncey for a great warm up.
Day 2 : Geneva to Megève
Climb over the col de la Colombiere and col des Aravis with a final acent to the hilltop town of Megeve.
Day 3 : Megève to Bourg Saint Maurice
Climb the col des Saises and col du Cormet de Roseland. Ride through the Valley just past Bourg Saint Maurice with a final climb to Les Arcs
Day 4: Bourg St Maurice to Briancon
Marathon day ride west to climb the col de la Madeleine, col du Telegraphe and Galibier end outside Briancon.
Day 5: Alp Dhuez out and back
Day 6: Briancon to Pra Loup
Ride through Briancon and over the col d’Izoard finishing climb on Pra Loup
Day 7: Pra Loup to Auron
Ride through Jausiers to climb the famous cime de la Bonnette
Day 8: Auron to Nice
Easier final day through the canyons of the route du Nice. Finish on the famous Promenade des Anglais.
Day 9 – Departure
Departure or stay a few extra days in Nice.

Travel insurance … also known as trip insurance, is recommended for anyone traveling in a foreign country. They are relatively low cost and can protect against unexpected cancellations and depending on the company can provide additional medical coverage, property damage, theft etc. For our tours we recommend CSA Travel Protection. Cancellation Policy … In the event that you have to cancel your trip the following rules apply to regularly scheduled tours. Private tours may have additional guidelines.
- 100% of deposit refunded within 30 day of payment
- $100 administration fee within 3 months prior to tour start date
- 50% refund within 1 month prior to the tour start date
- Medical emergencies are on a case by case bases
- Travel insurance is always recommended
